Midwest Manufacturers Association

Midwest Manufacturers Association (MMA) serves as the central hub of a consortium of industry-related trade groups and associations.  MMAs primary service region is envisioned as the Upper Midwest: Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wisconsin and Iowa.  By joining forces under one central hub, the rural manufacturing industry in the Midwest region has a way to express its collective voice to government, to suppliers of common goods and services, and to each other.
AMFA contracts with the MMA office, which is located in Elbow Lake, MN, for various services such as bookkeeping and newsletter production/distribution.  Contact Sandy Kashmark at the office with any questions you may have; if she cant answer your question, shell steer you in the right direction.  877-330-2632 or midwest@runestone.net.
Midwest Manufacturers' Association owns a for-profit subsidiary company, Collaborative Ventures, Inc. (CVI), for proper fiscal handling of certain association-sponsored programs (i.e.the Trifac Workers Compensation Fund).

Tri-State Manufacturers' Association

Minnesota Manufacturers Coalition Arrowhead Manufacturers & Fabricators Association is a founding member of the Minnesota Manufacturers' Coalition.  Formed in April 2004, the Coalition is a consortium of association leaders representing 26 entities FROM across Minnesota who serve the needs of manufacturers.
The mission of the Minnesota Manufacturers' Coalition is to:  "Serve as a unified voice of manufacturers on issues that impact competitiveness, and raise the visibility of the importance of manufacturing to Minnesota's economy."
One of the Coalition's top priorities in 2006 pertains to Minnesota's practice of rebating sales tax collected on the purchase of capital equipment.  Manufacturers are required to pay sales tax at the time of purchase, and then request a rebate FROM the state.  Several million dollars - some reports suggest as much as $75 million - are left unclaimed by small and medium sized manufacturers every year.  The Coalition is lobbying the Minnesota State Legislature to make capital equipment purchases exempt at the point of sale.
