AMFA Honors Rusty Hoglund With MVP Award

The AMFA Educational Trust recently named Rusty Hoglund as its 2010 Most Valuable Partner. The MVP award is given out annually to acknowledge an individual or organization’s efforts in support of the mission of the AMFA Educational Trust.

Hoglund, owner of Superior Steel Inc. and Chair of the AMFA Government Affairs Committee, has long supported the Educational Trust in its mission to disseminate information about employment opportunities in manufacturing and provide capital and grants to educational institutions and programs that are relevant to careers in manufacturing. Often, the Educational Trust provides the critical link between industry and education. Hoglund has been particularly active representing AMFA on the legislative front, heading up involvement at the "Duluth & St. Louis County at the Capital" event for the past several years, among other things.

Past recipients of the MVP award include: Mary Brandt, John Eagleton, Heidi Timm-Bijold, Jamie Dettmann, Gene Betts, Bob Mars Jr., Dan Larson, and Diane Rauschenfels.

The efforts of the Educational Trust are spearheaded by a volunteer Board of Directors, with Richard Lien, HydroSolutions of Duluth, as the current volunteer President.
